Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor to receive physical therapy services?
In the state of FL, physical therapists can provide direct access services for 30 consecutive days. If skilled physical therapy is required after the initial 30 days for a condition that has not been assessed by a healthcare provider, then a signed plan of care and referral from that healthcare provider will be needed to continue.
Is insurance accepted?
I provide private pay services that are not dictated by insurance limitations or restrictions. Some “out-of-network’ plans, HSAs or FSAs can be accepted as a form of payment.
Are sessions private?
All sessions (physical therapy and fitness/wellness) are private and one-on-one!
How long is each physical therapy session?
Sessions are typically 60 minutes! The initial evaluation consists of a thorough musculoskeletal examination and external/internal vaginal and/or rectal pelvic floor muscle assessment as indicated, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and individualized evidence-based treatment plan.
Follow-up treatment sessions include, but not limited to, manual therapy including soft tissue massage/mobilization, cupping, joint mobilizations; neuromuscular re-education on motor control/coordination, postural awareness, breathwork, mind-body connection; therapeutic exercise prescription and progression; and therapeutic activity and patient education on body mechanics and behavioral/lifestyle strategies for symptom management.
